Onze Kolyma Honden - Our Kolyma Dogs : Ons A-Nest - Our A-Litter

Jessica of Kolyma was de enige overlevende uit ons J-nest  (zie mijn verhaal in mijn J-nest tekst) en we waren niet zeker of we haar moesten fokken. Natalie Norris' mening hierover: “Els, ze is vrij van dit probleem, ze is een goede hond en Alaskan’s Yentka II of Anadyr’s dochter uit onze Astro/Nicolai lijn. Ze past goed in jullie fokprogramma. Ik zou haar beslist een nest geven.”

En dat hebben we gedaan. Ons leek vooral Alaskan’s Spook of Anadyr – met zijn half Seppala McFaul achtergrond – de goede combinatie. We hielden alle pups aan totdat ze goed ingebroken waren in het harnas en bijna een jaar waren. Dit om zeker te weten dat ze vrij zouden zijn van het J nest probleem. En dat waren ze ook. Het was een heerlijk energiek, gezond en dynamiek stel. Goede sound temperamenten en uitbundige werkers in het harnas – zoals alle Spookpups – en goed overall binnen de standaard.

Hans & Karin Bos (Chenok Kennels) showden Anne of Kolyma naar haar Kampioenstitel en fokten haar een keer met Ch. Chris of Kolyma. Beide honden werkten goed in hun Open klas team en alle andere pups zijn in goede teams terecht gekomen en ook daar in de fokkerij gebruikt. Daar ben ik nog steeds best trots op.

Jessica of Kolyma was the only survivor from our J-litter (see the story on the J-litter page) and we were hesitant to breed her. Natalie Norris commented on this: “Els, she proved to be free of this problem, she is a good dog and Alaskan’s Yentka II of Anadyr’s daughter from our Astro/Nicolai line. She fits well into your breeding program. I definitely would breed a litter out of her.”

So we did. We felt with Alaskan’s Spook of Anadyr – with his half-Seppala McFaul background – it would make a good combination. We kept all the pups until a year old and well broken into harness. This was to ensure they would be free of the J litter genetic problem, and they were. A wonderful energetic, healthy and dynamic lot, with good sound temperaments, exuberantly enthusiastic in harness – like all Spook pups – and overall well within the breed standard.

Hans & Karin Bos (Chenok Kennels) showed Anne of Kolyma to her Champions title and bred her to Ch. Chris of Kolyma. Both dogs performed well in their Open Class team and all the other pups ended up in good teams and were used in breeding. I am still very proud of them all!
